What does a portfolio manager do?

He/she constantly looks for growth options for you his/her client. The portfolio may be a growth, value, momentum or an income portfolio. Every portfolio has a different approach and a very strict mandate. The managers are part of a team consisting of researchers and traders.

During the process the only concern is growth with as little drawdowns as possible. This manifests nowadays in awesome choices with different visions. Delivery time is never certain. For instance, who could forecast that, during the spike in the ALSI on Monday 16 September, the PSG Flexible fund would gain 13%.

This is a little background view on what is happening to our investment monies. All portfolios are treated equal. Only inside the investment space, the mandate determines the different playing fields.

The consensus view is that the growth may start the up at any time. Any announcement, declaration or feeling amongst investors may spark positive sentiment. This will be the start of the up in growth we so desperately need.

Please sit tight for a little bit longer. None of the losses we saw cannot be recovered in good time. Patience is all we need at this stage.
